Honeycomb: The World Beyond Plants: Every Named Plant & Tree
Every named plant
| Plant | Family | Zone | Raw | Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sunbeam Lumus | Lumus | The Valley | Safe | Sweet, persimmon-like fruit that quenches thirst but gives little nutrition. Its branch is the grafting example in the crossbreeding devlog. |
| Cloud Beam Lumus | Lumus | Lab only | Not stated | Created by grafting a Sunbeam Lumus branch onto another Lumus tree; its seeds grow a tree that only exists in your lab. |
| Sweet Tarax | Tarax | The Valley | Safe | Nutritious and juicy; the long fibrous stems are used for textiles. Drops a lot of seeds. |
| Sour Tarax | Tarax | Valley cave behind the waterfall door; later regions | Not stated | Players collect it for the injector (dart gun) recipes. |
| Ice Bonebell | Not stated | The Valley (Red Forest) | Bitter | Minor healing effect. |
| Green Naga | Naga | The Headlands | Poisonous | Once processed, a reliable ingredient for early and mid-tier recipes. |
| Blue Naga | Naga | Early game area | Not stated | Not stated. |
| Ebony Linter | Linter | The Headlands | Poisonous | Processed, it gives the structural strength for refined recipes and high-durability gear. |
| Cobalt Sargent | Not stated | The Headlands (caves and dungeons) | Safe | Tea ingredient with IM-X immunostimulant properties, which helps keep Immunity up. |
| Earth Filoy | Filoy | The Pass | Safe | Orange, plum-like fruit; dependable nutrition. |
| Prism Nut | Not stated | The Pass | Edible, bitter | Dense, fatty nutrition, but it makes you thirsty fast. |
| Noon Nillow | Not stated | The Pass | Digestible, no effect | Mostly ecological, per Frozen Way. |
| Dragonfly Solum | Solum | Not stated | Not stated | One of the two Solum flowers crossed by allogamy in the official walkthrough. |
| Amber Tree | Not stated | By the water | Not stated | Not stated. |

Zone, edibility and use come from Frozen Way's Field Survey Logs and devlogs unless the source says otherwise. 'Family' is the crossbreeding group Frozen Way names in its devlogs; plants cross only within a family in the official walkthrough.
Growth cycles
Every plant runs on its own cycle. At Gamescom 2025 Frozen Way showed a plant at "the second stage of, let's say, five", which was nothing more than a landmark sprout. You can still scan a landmark sprout to learn what it will become and when it will be ready (the guide entry shows the time, for example "harvest in 20 minutes"). Once you pick a fruit, the plant resets and has to grow again.
- Crops and trees drop fruit when ripe; trees also carry a small branch you can cut for grafting.
- Herbs are pulled whole and give produce and seeds separately. They die after full maturity, so cross them while they are still flowering.
- Picked items decay. A flower away from its branch "will deteriorate and disappear after some period of time". Seeds do not rot.
Poisonous plants and cooking
"Almost everything is edible, but some might give you a nasty surprise," Frozen Way wrote in 2024. Green Naga and Ebony Linter have to be processed before they are useful. The early Cooker (later the multicooker) turns toxic plants into safe food, and the Water Dispenser cleans river water. Canned food is made in the food fabricator when you have an empty can in your inventory.
Growing plants at home
A grow pod needs water from a pump, power from a solar panel or wind turbine, and a bee pipe, which brings bees into the lab. The bee pipe only fits in the centre of certain rooms and cannot overlap a staircase, so Alidove recommends two multi-purpose rooms given over to grow beds. Automated grow beds later harvest and store crops for you. Frozen Way's crossbreeding devlog adds that changing the soil and using fertilizer raise the amount you harvest. Details are on the crossbreeding page and in the base building guide.

Plants FAQ
How do you get seeds in Honeycomb: The World Beyond?
Herbs give seeds when you pull them. Fruit trees do not drop seeds, so open the plant menu (left click) and pick the seed option, or turn picked fruit and flowers into seeds from your inventory. Seeds never rot, which makes them the safe way to carry a plant home.
Why do my plants disappear?
Picked flowers, fruit and herbs decay and vanish after a while, and rotten plant parts turn into biomass. Hotfix #1 halved how fast carried items degrade. If you chose the Engineer mode you can switch organic decay off, but only when you create the world.
Which plants are poisonous?
Green Naga and Ebony Linter are poisonous raw and must be processed first. Eating one anyway unlocks the As White As Snow achievement, which 23.1% of players had on 10 September 2026.
