What is Honeycomb: The World Beyond?
A single-player survival sandbox by Frozen Way, the studio behind House Flipper, published by Snail Games USA on 8 September 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. You play Hennessy, an EON Corp bioengineer on the planet Sota7, scanning and befriending wildlife, building a modular base and crossbreeding plants and animals to find a cure for a dying Earth.
Is it Honeycomb, Hunny Cumb or Honeycomb World Beyond?
All the same game. It was announced in 2021 simply as Honeycomb, and the subtitle The World Beyond was added in November 2023. Searches for honeycomb world beyond, honeycomb game or the misspelling hunny cumb all point to it. It has nothing to do with the Squid Game honeycomb challenge or the New York Times word puzzle.
Does Honeycomb: The World Beyond have multiplayer or co-op?
No. It is single-player only. Frozen Way stopped work on co-op in March 2023, and in September 2026 the developer told players on Steam it is 'not at the moment, but we're open to a lot of things post-release'.
Is Honeycomb: The World Beyond on Nintendo Switch?
No Switch or Switch 2 version has been announced. It launched on PC (Steam and Epic), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Is it on Xbox Game Pass?
It was not in any of the Game Pass catalogue lists we checked on 10 September 2026. On Xbox it is a normal purchase.
Can you play in third person?
No. A developer said on the Steam forum that it is first person only, with some third-person moments when you use vehicles. Several players asked for a third-person option for motion-sickness reasons.
Is there combat?
Not in the usual sense. Frozen Way's product owner said at Gamescom 2025 that 'there's no killing in this game'. Dangerous animals are avoided or put to sleep with a tranquiliser dart, and running out of health knocks Hennessy out rather than killing her, except in the permadeath Space Hell mode.
How long does it take to beat?
About 12 hours for the quests without skipping anything, according to the developer. One player estimates 25 to 30 hours to crossbreed everything and find every secret, and the YouTuber Alidove finished her first run in about 15 hours.
Does my demo save carry over to the full game?
Yes. The developer confirmed on the Steam forum that demo saves are fully compatible with the full version.
Did Frozen Way use AI in Honeycomb?
Frozen Way says no. In the Hotfix #1 notes of 9 September 2026 it wrote that the intro cutscene was 'made and fully rendered two years ago in 3DS Max' and that it 'did NOT use AI whatsoever'.
Does Engineer mode turn off achievements?
No. The developer confirmed achievements stay on in the custom Engineer mode.
Where is the official Discord?
Frozen Way runs one server for all its games at discord.gg/frozenwayofficial. It is linked from the launch trailer and the developers point bug reports there. Our official links page lists it with the store pages.
Is there a Honeycomb subreddit?
We could not find a dedicated one on 10 September 2026. Launch posts sit in general subreddits such as r/WhatsOnSteam, r/xbox and r/PS5, and most player questions are on the Steam discussion forum.
